“CREATING IS A MEETING WITH YOURSELF”

-Jill Badonsky

Esteban Ochando Teruel was born in Montreal, Canada.

Raised by Spanish parents, he had the privilege to travel to Europe on a yearly basis, spending summer vacations close to family in Spain.

Coming from a very talented family in different trades and arts, he always had a strong desire to create and make things with his hands.

Caught up in the career rollercoaster, his love for design, architecture, and B&W Photography had never really developed until his wife and he decided to move to Spain in 2016. Finally it was time to explore his own dreams and passions further.

Atelier Esteban wasn't an idea until he found the right space that inspired him. His Atelier allows him to work with his hands and free his creativity without any limits.

Esteban expresses himself through the things he creates using mostly different types of plywood. He loves working with the lines to create different patterns that are pleasing to the eye. His passion for plywood goes back to when he was a child. Growing up close to his Yayi (grandfather) who was a carpenter by trade, there was always a sheet of plywood in the garage. Whether it was used as a large table for family gatherings or to quickly carve a hockey stick for his grandson, plywood was the solution.

Plywood is elegantly simple and that is what makes it unique.
